Bianca Andreescu makes Canadian history.
The 19-year old Canadian from Thornhill, Ontario will meet the legend Serena Williams in the finals on Saturday.
Bianca beat Williams less than a month ago at the Rogers Cup final in Toronto, after Williams retired due to injury.
Bianca wasn’t born when Serena won her first Grand Slam some 20 years ago. She was 17 years-old.
Bianca Andreescu is Canadian-born to Romanian parents who fled to Canada seeking a better life during the dictatorship of Nicolae Ceausescu.
