Unveiled in 1965, it has been only 53 years since the Maple Leaf made its debut as Canada’s national flag. Today, the red Maple Leaf is a symbol of unity, tolerance, and peace, in Canada and around the world.
It was inaugurated on February 15, 1965, and since 1996, February 15 has been commemorated as National Flag of Canada Day.
