» Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro has refused 20 million euro (US$22m) in financial aid from the G7 nations – Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, UK, USA –  to help fight fires in the Amazon rainforest, claiming these countries are trying to gain access to Brazil’s natural resources. Again, deforestation-linked fires are burning at a record rate in the Amazon, Bolsonaro turned down the offer of $22 million to help tackle them.
