Two Australian teenage boys were rescued by a new lifesaving drone while lifeguards were nearby training to use the device.

The two swimmers, aged 15-17, had got into difficulties off the coast of Lennox Head, New South Wales.

As soon as the lifesavers were alerted the boys were in difficulty, they sent the drone to drop an inflatable flotation device. The teenagers made their way safely to shore.
